Sewing Instructions
Piece together the companion angle triangles to form square units. Open up the unit and press to one side.
Illus. 1- Sew 16 red/white squares
- Sew 32 green/white squares
- Sew 16 white/white squares

Piece the units together in rows of 4 according to the illustration. Then sew the rows together, 4 rows makes a complete quilt block.

Repeat this process to yield 4 complete quilt blocks.

Sew two of the blocks together in a row.

Repeat, yielding 2, 2 block units.

Arrange these two units to form the stocking.

Sew the 2 blocks together, this completes the stockings shape.

Place the stocking front on top of a piece of batting and the remaining light fabric. Make sure to place the stocking front wrong side up so that when finished the right side of the light fabric matches direction with the stocking. Cut around the stocking leaving an extra inch around the entire stocking.

Baste and quilt the 3 layers together as desired, trimming off all extra fabric around the edges.

Use the stocking front as a template and place on top of the remaining light fabric. Cut around the stocking leaving a 1/4" seam allowance.
Then

Place the quilted stocking front on top of a layer of batting and the remaining printed fabric. Make sure to place the front facing to the right, so that when finished, the right side of the printed fabric matches the direction with the stocking. Cut around the stocking leaving an extra inch around the entire stocking.

Baste and quilt the 3 layers together as desired, trimming off all extra fabric around the edges.

Place the 2 quilted halves on top of each other, with right sides facing each other.

Sew along the edges, leaving the top open. Turn the entire stocking inside out. The stocking should now look completely finished except for the top edge.

Fold the trim in half and glue it around the top edge of the stocking, covering up the raw edges. Glue a small loop of trim on the inside corner of the stocking to hang it.
