Assembling the Units
It is so quick and easy to make a paper-pieced label for your quilt. Begin by making a copy of the quilt label block. Trim the block on the outside line. This is different from making paper-pieced block where you will trim 1/4" from the outside line. The reason we are trimming on the line first, is so you can use the edge of the paper to press over the seam allowances on the outside edge in order to applique the block on the back of your quilt.

Cut the fabric pieces in the cutting list. I like to use some of the fabrics used on the front of the quilt. Use a light-colored fabric in the #1 position so the information you will write on it with a permanent pen will show up. You can writhe your information first and center it in the #1 position or you can make your label and then write on the center square.

After the block has been paper-pieced, fold the fabrics over the edge of the paper and press in place. Remove the paper and applique the block on the back of your quilt.
