Apple Core Table Runner
Approximately 15" x 30"
Apple Core Table Runner

Tools
- Make an Apple Core Charm Quilt Set
- 1 package Wrights® Wide Single Fold Bias Tape for binding in a coordinating color.

Note: For best results, use 28mm rotary cutter with template.

Fabric
- Sixty 5" squares or scraps of assorted fabrics.

Directions
Cut 60 Apple core shapes from fabric (Note: it is possible to cut up to four layers at once with a rotary cutter).

Assemble apple core shapes in rows as follows:
Make 1/8" clips in the inner curve of the apple core shape. Place two apple core shapes right sides together with the inner curve at the top.

Illustrations 1 and 2

Carefully pin and stitch using a scant 1/4" seam gently easing the two edges to avoid tucks. Do not backstitch, stitches will be locked in place when joined. Press seams toward the inner curves.

Illustration 3

Stitch six apple cores to form a row. Make ten rows, alternating the position of the first apple core shape between horizontal and vertical.

Assemble rows as follows:
Place one row on top of another right sides together. Pin together first where concave piece is on top. Sew only those edges first (you will be stitching every other apple core).

Illustration 4A and 4B

Flip over and repeat, stitching unsewn edges, overlapping previous stitching by three or four stitches.

Continue as above until all 10 rows are assembled. Press seams to one side.

Layer, quilt and bind. This quilt was quilted in the ditch and Wrights® bias tape was used to complete the quilt. To finish, attach 1/8 satin ribbon and tie apple charm to one corner.
