Illustration 1Sew beige background Easy Angle triangles to opposite sides of the large floral squares. Press the seams away from the squares. Sew triangles to the remaining two sides. Press. Trim dog-ears (illus. 1).

Illustration 6Assemble 48 Tri-Recs units with the green print on the right side, and 48 Tri-Recs units with the beige floral background on the right side (illus. 3 and 4). (NOTE: You have cut pairs of the Tri-Recs units, so this will automatically happen).

Sew together 2 Tri-Recs units so the points are touching and both green units are on the same side. Make 48 units. Press the seam open to reduce bulk (illus. 5).

Sew 2 of these units to opposite sides of the pieced square, with the green print next to the pieced square. Press towards the pieced square. Make 12 (illus. 6).

Illustration 7Sew triangle squares to both sides of the remaining Tri-Recs units, positioning the green triangles as shown. Press the seams towards the triangle squares. Make 24 of these units (illus. 7).

Sew these units to both sides of the pieced square, completing the block. Press the seams towards the pieced square. Make 12 (illus. 8).

Assembling the Quilt
Join 3 blocks with sashing strips. Press towards the sashing strips. Make 4 rows of three blocks.

Make 3 sashing rows with 3 sashing strips and 2 pink corner stones. Press towards the sashing strips.

Join the block rows and sashing rows, referring to the quilt graphic. Press the seams towards the sashing.

Borders
Sew a 2" green border to the top and bottom of the quilt. Press seams toward the border. Sew 2" green borders to both sides of the quilt. Press.

Sew 8" large floral borders to the top and bottom of the quilt. Press the seams toward the floral border. Sew the side borders to the quilt. Press.

Scalloped Edge Finish
Measure 7 1/2" in from each corner. Make a mark at this point, then every 8-9" along the edge, dividing the border into even length scallops. Mark 2" below your previous marks-this is the inside point of each of the scallops. Using a lid or protractor, connect the lower marks with a smooth curve. Allow the corners to come to a point. Do not cut on these marks until after the binding has been sewn on!

Baste and quilt as desired.

Vintage Roses QuiltCut green binding fabric 1 1/4" wide on the bias. Join the lengths with a diagonal seam pressed open. Sew the binding to the quilt following the scallops you have marked, easing the curves, and pivoting with the needle down at the inside corner. After the binding is sewn on, trim the quilt even with the edge of the binding. Turn the binding under 1/4" and sew to the back side of the quilt by hand.

Baste and quilt as desired.

Bind scalloped edge with 1 1/4" single bias binding.

Don't forget to sign and date your quilt!
Enjoy!
