General Directions
Read through instructions before beginning the project. Prewash and press fabric. Use an accurate 1/4" seam allowance unless noted otherwise.

Cutting Directions
Illustration 1This block is made with a left and right side. The pieces are made from strips that are cut 2 1/2" wide. The white must be cut separately from the green so that you will have opposite shapes.

Cut one strip of green 2 1/2" wide and cut one strip of white 2 1/2" wide. (If the white has a "right side", cut it with right sides together). Do the same with the green fabric. This is necessary to have shapes that are opposite each other.

Block Construction
IllustrationAfter cutting the pieces needed for the block, lay them out to be sure all the pieces are correct.

IllustrationThen join the green and white pieces together one section at a time.

IllustrationNext, join the left side pieces together and the right. Complete by joining the two sides together.

Border Strips
IllustrationCut twenty 1 1/2" strips from the dark green border fabric.

From each strip you will cut two 8 1/2" pieces and two 10 1/2" pieces.

Sew the 8 1/2" pieces to the top and bottom and the 10 1/2" pieces to the sides. Repeat this for all the blocks.

Sashing Strips
IllustrationCut thirteen 2 1/2" white strips. Cut each of these into 10 1/2" pieces. Cut two 2 1/2" dark green strips. Cut these into 2 1/2" squares. First sew twenty-five white 2 1/2" strips to the sides of the blocks.

Then join twenty-four sashing strips with the green squares.

Cut eight 7" wide strips from print fabric for the outside border. Join these together and then carefully join them to the quilt. Be sure that opposite sides are equal in length.
